RMIT Training's expertise in delivering Aviation English has been recognised by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation and Human Resources Development Transportation Agency (HRDTA).

The CEO of RMIT Training, Rachel Holthouse, and Senior Regional Manager – Asia Pacific, Grant Taylor, recently met with senior staff from HRDTA who oversee all arms of transportation, including land and sea as well as air traffic.

The existing Memorandum of Understanding between RMIT Training and HRDTA was renewed allowing for an agreement to be developed to deliver English language training to the Indonesian Civil Aviation Institute (ICAI).

ICAI is the premier government aviation training college in Indonesia, which has campuses in four cities. ICAI trains up to 1000 personnel each year in flight training, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance and management.

RMIT Training will support aviation instructors and cadets to build capacity in English language delivery in Indonesia. This relationship enables RMIT English Worldwide to provide personnel and materials to embed Aviation English courses at ICAI, supporting their vision to create an English-medium campus.

The CEO commented that ICAI and RMIT Training are both passionate about the importance of English.

“We are inspired by their determination to make English an integral part of their training service,” she said.

The CEO and Mr Taylor attended the graduation ceremony on December 15 where this significant agreement was signed in front of a large audience of cadets and senior aviation officials. The CEO noted the great honour it had been to attend this event and demonstrate RMIT Training's commitment to working in Indonesia.

RMIT Training works closely with airlines, air traffic control organisations, civil aviation authorities and aviation training organisations to present comprehensive English language solutions that meet the needs of the aviation sector, with face-to-face and online learning.
