RMIT Training presents at Asia Pacific aviation training event

RMIT Training recently presented at the Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) in Singapore.

The event is the annual regional peak industry conference and tradeshow for the aviation training community. 

RMIT English Worldwide Senior Regional Manager – Asia Pacific, Grant Taylor, gave a presentation on the topic of ‘Aviation English Testing and Training Solutions for the International Aviation Industry’.

Mr Taylor spoke during the session, ‘Supporting Training Needs’. His presentation focused on RMIT Training’s overall training capability and in particular a new English for Aircraft Maintenance Personnel course, currently being developed.

Mr Taylor highlighted features of the new course including language skills, professional scenarios, delivery options and benefits to the industry.

A key point was on the importance of preventing miscommunication in maintenance tasks and associated risks given the history of aircraft accidents caused by faulty maintenance.

“The conference is a must-attend event for Aviation industry experts in the region and an invaluable opportunity to share knowledge around exploring and developing new training solutions,” Mr Taylor said.

The theme for APATS 2016 was ‘Building a Safety Culture through Sharing Best Practice in Airline Training’.

The symposium featured over 500 attendees from 45 countries, showcasing the latest cutting-edge services and solutions.

Topics included blended learning, competency-based training, instructional techniques and training, human factors, international and national safety, simulation, mobile and e-learning technologies.
